The Academy's Kalaeloa campus is comprised of a five-acre property at the former U.S. Naval Air Station Barbers Point, and is currently leased from the Department of Hawaiian Homelands. A historic three-story commanding officer's headquarters facilitates focused learning using an optimal 16:1 student-teacher ratio.
A dedicated learning space of over 12,250 square feet are framed by an organic sustainable garden, a six-lane 25-yard above-ground pool, and two outdoor weight rooms.
Located within Honolulu's "second city", the City of Kapolei is a thriving suburban community with the largest new home starts in Hawaiʻi. Academy families hail from the surrounding Kapolei community, ʻEwa through the Waiʻanae Coast, Mililani, Pearl City and Aiea.
American Renaissance Academy is a non-profit 501(c)(3) organization operating as an independent, accredited college preparatory school. The Western Association of Schools and Colleges (WASC) granted initial accreditation to the Academy in 2009. In 2012, a combined self-study and visit was launched with WASC and the Hawaiʻi Association of Independent Schools (HAIS). Full six-year accreditation was granted in 2013, through 2019.
The Academy is licensed with the Hawaiʻi Council of Private Schools and is an institution in good standing with the Hawaiʻi Department of Commerce and Consumer Affairs (DCCA). We are members of the National Association of Independent Schools (NAIS) and the Hawaiʻi Association of Independent Schools (HAIS).
